The Biblical basis for Beauty for Ashes Ministry Isaiah 61: 1-3
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted to proclaim freedom for the captive and release from darkness for the prisoners To proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God To comfort all who mourn and to provide for all who grieve in Zion To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes the oil of gladness instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair They will be called oaks of righteousness a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendour
Beauty for Ashes is a ministry for Christian women who have suffered hurt, disappointment and disillusionment in their life. Plans and dreams they once held have not worked out leaving them feeling despondent a failure and carrying a heaviness around that stops them being the woman that God made and intended them to be. These women have a broken heart and broken dreams. God wants to bring wholeness and healing into women’s lives so that they can realise the potential that they have in Christ and then minister to others God wants to replace the ashes of our lives with a crown of beauty
To allow the Holy Spirit to work and have His way in the ministry at all times To base every part of the ministry on the Word of God To acknowledge what Jesus did on the cross by shedding His precious blood He declared that by His stripes we are healed To believe in the power of the blood of Jesus To minister and work with women bringing them to a point in their life where they are ready and willing to give their ashes to God and receive His healing To build and nurture lasting relationships and friendships To provide loving support to women To love unconditionally in a non-judgemental way To see women restored and made whole by the Blood of Jesus Christ For a woman to become the beautiful women that God created her to be healed, restored and back in the battle serving God.
